Coordinator to Speak at CUPE Convention in Truro
Truro, NS – The Provincial Coordinator of the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network will address the CUPE Nova Scotia convention tomorrow regarding the 2014 Health Accord. Coordinator Kyle Buott will provide an overview of the Health Network’s accomplishments in the last three years and outline the coming campaign to protect, strengthen, and extend public health care in 2014.
Buott will arrive in Truro around 9:00 am and will speak around 10:00 am. Interviews can be arranged before or after the presentation.
Buott can provide an overview of the issues going into the 2014 Health Accord negotiations and why the Health Network is starting to organize three years before the Accord is to be signed. Buott can also provide commentary on health care as an issue in the current federal election.

About the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network:
Formed in 1996, the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network’s goal is to stop the privatization of the public health care system, ensure high levels of care, and create a forum for people and communities to discuss issues in health care.
The Network is a coalition of local health committees, community groups, organized labour, faith groups and individuals dedicated to protecting and advancing public health care to include services like pharmacare, dental care and long-term and home care.
The Network is political but non-partisan and receives no government funding.
