17 Apr Call to Care 2014 – Morning Rush Hour Action
The Nova Scotia Citizen’s Health Network is working to raise the profile of the 2014 health accords in the general public. An action is being planned for Friday, April 20th to get the attention of morning commuters in Halifax.
As discussions continue for the 2014 health accord to fund medicare for the next ten years, the Conservatives have announced $21 billion in cuts to Canada’s most important program. The need for public actions to protect, strengthen, and extend medicare is great. Lined up along a length of road, people holding signs will a share a jingle about protecting, strengthening, and extending medicare. This will be the first of a series of actions in a campaign to raise awareness of the accords, including a lawn sign campaign.
Volunteers are needed on the corner of Gottingen and North street (by the MacDonald Bridge entrance) from 7:30am to 9:30am. Signs will be provided. Invite others by forwarding this message and/or this facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/304924922912827/
Your attendance will make this action work. Please RSVP to johnhutton@nshealthcoalition so we can confirm the number of people in advance.
