18 May Digby Area Health Coalition Reports

On May 16, 2017 our friends in the Digby Area Health Coalition released two detailed reports about how public health care works in their community. These reports should be read by anyone interested in health care in Nova Scotia as they paint a detailed, shocking picture of what health care in one community looks like and how the choices governments make impact the lives of every day people.

The DAHC have allowed us to share their research here and you can download them by clicking on the links below.

The first report was conducted by two graduate students and included interviews with dozens of residents who discuss their own experiences of health care in the Digby area. A summary of the report is also available.

The second report is based on interviews with doctors who have left the community and looks into the reason why areas like Digby struggle to retain family doctors.
