30 Apr Health Advocates to Rally at Liberal AGM
Halifax (April 30/15) Health care advocates will rally outside the location of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party’s annual general meeting to voice their concerns about the further privatization of home support services. Patients, concerned citizens, and health professionals are gathering to confront the Liberals, calling on them to protect care and care givers.
Advocates will be joined by civil servants and others who are displeased by the recent provincial budget.
What: A rally protesting further privatization of home care services, and cuts to public and social services to vulnerable populations.
Who: Nova Scotians concerned about the future of public health care including health care professionals and seniors. The rally is co-organized by the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network, the Cape Breton District Labour Council, NSGEU, CUPE, and NSNU.

Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network:
Formed in 1996, the Nova Scotia Citizens’ Health Care Network’s goal is to stop the privatization of the public health care system, ensure high levels of care, and create a forum for people and communities to discuss issues in health care.
The Network is a coalition of local health committees, community groups, organized labour, faith groups and individuals dedicated to protecting and advancing public health care to include services like pharmacare, dental care and long-term and home care. The Network is political but non-partisan and receives no government funding.
